RISE AND SHINE – a short documentary about the Panacea by Ira A. Goryainova
This one is for all of you that like to know a little more about one of the most infamous persons in the Drum and Bass scene. Of course we talk about the head of Position Chrome, the Panacea himself! Actually I guess it’s a waste of time to introduce this mastermind to you, since you should be familiar with his music. Some of you might have had the actual experience of seeing him live at Ausnahmezustand in Gera a few years ago. It was ace. Anyhow we don’t want to walk down memory lane, we want to post this video here for anyone that wants to get a better insight of his mind. Well, I have to warn you. He is a very unique character and this short documentary does not necessarily answer questions. I personally don’t know what I should think of him and this documentary in particular, since he has some very strange opinions towards certain topics. But I’d say it’s always worth watching. So grab some popcorn, beer or whatever makes you happy and watch this short documentary by Ira A. Goryainova.
Here’s some general information about it:
The exuberant Berlin-based drum ‘n bass producer Mathis Mootz (The Panacea), carries a dark past on his shoulders which determines his often radical choices in life. “Rise and shine” is a short doc which digs through layers of self-identifications to bring us under the skin of Mootz’s somehow evil, eccentric and dual persona – set against the colourful but dark palette of Berlin. A trip back into childhood, to a peaceful small town, illustrates how past experiences often determine who we become.
