There are not that many DJs that are playing in a league of their own. The kind of set Baseck and Flapjack ripped at Warp mode is just something else. Everyone who digs hardcore and scratching most likely would agree here that this shit is the shit! On 4, yes f-o-u-r, turntables they deliver a set that is unmatched in every way.
The first appearance of Thrasher on Deathchant is actually pretty amazing. While it requires not only skills, a real DC release also needs flow and style. And actually, this EP has it all. The production quality is very good and totally fits the Deathchant cosmos. Apart from the very first track which solely relies on some questionable vocal sample choice (it’s really kinda lame in 2024 in my personal opinion), all tracks showcase all the ingredients of a good Deathchant release. Keep it Burning and 2024 Murder in particular can destroy any dancefloor within seconds. The Orbiter on the other […]
Holy crap, this came rather unexpected. Rotterdam’s one and only Mike Redman aka Deformer released a remix EP of some of his tracks along with Prspct. On the EP some of hardcore’s true legends appeared such as Angerfist, the Outside Agency, Neophyte, Drokz, Tripped, Dolphin and N-Vitral (even though this remix sadly did not reach my eardrums very well). Seriously, this is the cream of the crop. It’s hard to pick a favorite at all, since all tracks deliver their own interpretations of already mind-blowing original Deformer tracks. Just check them one by one and you’ll understand the hype. In […]
The third and sadly the last chapter of Celsius’ “Voyager” trilogy is a solid EP packed with Hardcore and heavily distorted breaks. We can also highly recommend to listen to part 1 and part 2. All releases capture the oldschool sound with all the naivety and sample extravaganza you’re used to know from way back when. Voyager Part. 3 by Celsius
If you are also here for the more historical pieces, then this might be of interest for you. The Outside Agency just started their Crossbreed Legacy Series. For the first episode they arranged a journey through some of the material that influenced the Outside Agency back then. So, as you may have guessed already, they know how to pick some quality tunes for their personal history lesson. 00:00 DJ Luna-C – I Know U (D’Cruze Remix) [1993]03:29 Hardsequencer – Hypnotizing Unhappiness [1993]05:49 Pinhead – Slammin’ Beatz [1993]07:20 Hardliners – Motherfuckin’ Breakbeat [1993]09:07 Citrus – Fascination [1993]12:00 Defqon – Brainwasher [1992]15:19 […]
There are not many mixes out there that caught my attention like that! Dope mixing and selection!
Decent selection of Ruffex Records tunes from 1995 to 1997. Also nicely mixed by Kenny Kampbell. It’s a pleasure to listen to this outstanding mix! 01. Myztic – Dangerous Battle – REX010-6 (1997)02. Let’s be honest. Have you seen such a beautiful tracklist in a while? There’s not much to say about this mix. Akira is a wicked DJ and therefore you can be sure to experience a dope journey through the early years of hard electronic music! What I found here can surely be considered as a rare piece of art. Never underestimate the importance of Nasenbluten for the hard music scene as a whole. This historical artefact is a must in your annoying music collection 😉 Listen to Nasenbluten @ The Barracks, Islington, Newcastle (01.06.1996) byKaossfreak – Discoschrottplatz on hearthis.at
This guy from Russia appears to be heavily into Early Hardcore. If you’re missing rave stabs and cheesy melodies accompanied by distroted 909 Kicks you should find entertainment in his mix series. There are 3 of them out so far, so maybe check him out every now and then 😉
Shit, what a mindblowing set. Early Hardcore as it’s supposed to be and directly from the one and only! It can’t get any better than this. The DJ Producer – Ouwe Stijl Is Botergeil ‘ADE’ (19 – 10 – 2017)
Sometimes it’s getting a little annoying to search for new tapes. And many it sucks listening to them. But not this time. If you like your Hardcore relentlessly brutal you’re most likely pretty pleased with this mix. It’s a early Terror mix by UKTM with a great tracklist. It’s been a while that I was stoked about a tape, so download it and play it as loud as possible. I’m dead certain that your neighbors love it, too. Don’t hesitate! Tracklist: 1. Las Vegas 909 – Welcome To Hell / Worst Nightmare 2. Nasenbluten – Blow T’ The Nose 3. Dolphin & Dj […]
Mantello – EARLY HARDCORE (2015 End of Year Special) Alright, I have to admit it’s even harder than I thought to publish articles on a regular basis. However, I managed to find the time for this nice mix by Mantello. Some may know him from The Versus Dedication. “With no set agenda to announce forthcoming episodes, TVD is designed by a simple concept that primarily engages the listeners by means of exposing & educating them on the different sub-styles of hardcore & harder edged techno. With this concept, it helps take away the hours spent searching for specific styles or […]
