Well, this is clearly one of these albums that does not fit any category. The latest release by Void Settler on TTM is one of a kind Hardcore that can be only experienced and not be described with words. “Withervane” is a raw journey through acoustic universes filled with uncountable influences from genres nobody would ever expect. However, if you are familiar with Void Settler, you might already have an idea that the next hour is going to be intense.

The tracks on the album vary greatly from dreamy or moody to harsh, bouncy, extreme – sometimes all in one track. Absolutely odd stuff that explores soundscapes far beyond our comprehension. As usual, the rhythms are as weird as it gets and remain challenging throughout the complete album. No matter what happens, this album will always stick out due to its incredible, yet barely describable style.

Maybe this album does not appeal to everyone, but it is more than just a welcome relief from all the predictable music. Honestly, yes it might deviate a lot from regular Hardcore perspectives, but it is definitely worth finding out if you dig it or not.
