Attrition is truly as unique as its author. Slikback is a name you hopefully know by now and if not, please always keep this guy in mind. Seriously, this guy from Kenya is absolutely reshaping acoustics with every release. The sound design on this album is as alien as it could be, but it still clearly draws back to contemporary genres and further musical abominations. While it cannot be considered classic Hardcore as it is mainly featured on this blog, the album is as hardcore as it gets. The infotext on Bandcamp names influences such as “Gqom, Dubstep, Tech-Step, and […]
Ohm Resistance recently released a bass-heavy live recording by Venez from 2007. It is a nice throwback to a time, when Dubstep just came around the corner. Of course, we don’t talk about Brostep here, this is quite the opposite. Instead, it might be described as a heavily saturated bass assault with tons of dubby elements and effects, plus lots of harsh drums layered on top. The recording is also cut apart into a total of 14 individual tracks. For only 5 bucks you’re in! Live In Greenwich Village 2007 by Venez
Right after our interview with Mathlovsky, his album “Art Must Die For The Sake Of Profit” released about a month ago. If you haven’t read the interview yet, we highly recommend to do so, but if you’re just here for the music, that’s fine too. The new album is split into two parts (both available on one cassette) and features two conceptually very different sides. “Abraxas“ is a deep dive into gloomy soundscapes. This ambient release is just as dark as it gets and offers a lot for people that are not primarily looking for kicks or percussion. [HOLxx9] ART […]
For our 200th post we have something very special for you. Lot’s of people are crazy ingenious when it comes to mutilating breakbeats, distorting kickdrums and most importantly disturbing the peace. But even if there are many great producers out there, nobody does it like Deformer. This guy offers a whole universe of aesthetic, atheist aggression which remains unmatched. His album “See, Hear, Scream” is more than an “album”, it’s a best of and beyond. A showcase of Deformer’s musical endeavors which already have started in 1993. It’s unbelievable how much these productions stick out even when it comes to […]
