Recordings Ausnahmezustand MVZ/Jena 11.10.24

After 2 already quite exhausting parties, we finished this year’s party season early at MVZ in Jena. The night was not the smoothest in our history, but in the end we all had a very good time. Again, the lineup was so on point. For this edition we put all the focus on industrial hardcore in all its glory. While we sadly cannot provide all the sets of that night, we have at least something for you that leaves no room for discussion. The set by Aura Kamikura is such a beast. Effortlessly, it meanders through the industrial remains of […]

Recordings BREAK DÆFENCE G16/Leipzig 21.09.24

Even though the recorder somehow quit during the night (we feel you), we could capture some absolutely noteworthy sets from an incredible event. It was a blast from the beginning to the end. Special thanks to LXC for recording and preparing the files! Seriously what a night! Of course, in the name of everyone I thank everybody for this great unforgettable party. The vibe was excellent and as far as we can tell, you thought the same. Such an incredible crowd and unmatched lineup. All the acts of the night were outstanding. I rarely have witnessed something similar in a […]

Starving Insect – Blind Idiot God

Every once in a while, there is a release that simply sticks out. Here, it is not too difficult to see why. Starving Insect’s latest release on PRSPCT walks along a more holistic path than most hardcore producers. “Blind Idiot God” is an artistic statement that contains several layers of horror combined. All 4 tracks rely heavily on a dark, industrial, synth-heavy musical background. They simply sound outstanding and showcase once more the talent of Starving Insect. A very emotional trip into a realm of darkness that has not been revealed until now. He’s pushing hardcore into a direction that […]

Tripped – Celebration Of Ignorance

The already third full album by Tripped features 10 solid bangers which are not restricted to contemporary hardcore at all. On the other hand, the album is as hardcore as it gets. The kickdrum design draws back to the old-school, while the sound design is classic Tripped style. With a ton of ultra heavy synth lines and hectic loops, you can get easily get hooked on the sound. The collaborations/remixes with Doormouse, Rabbeat and Celsius are also worth mentioning, adding another layer of insanity to this release. If you want to learn more about the album and how it came […]

Noirodyn – Untamed Rhythms

Another unbelievable Praxis release just came in recently. The album by Noirodyn is really great and shines in all its glory. The vibe throughout the whole piece is so damn good. You can feel the roughness in every single second, though at the same time you can always enjoy its slower pace. While many releases on this blog deal with heavy kickdrum assaults, this release stands out due to its unmatched flow. Everything is dark but so approachable, the beats just keep pushing and while they are not hard as nails, they are consistently groovy as hell. The tracks are […]

The Silence – The Breaking of the First Silence

Again, the Silence strikes with a deadly and dystopic EP. After their phenomenal impact with their album, the latest EP finally features 4 new tracks. They basically continue where the album stopped. The soundscapes and structures are similar, but are also crafted with the same precision and ear for detail as before. The Breaking of the First Silence by The Silence

REER – Industrial Revolution 1.0

Entering the scene like a bulldozer, Reer throws a compilation at us that features everything contemporary hardcore has to offer. The kicks kick as hard as they can and the artists showcase a very distinct style of hard-hitting industrial. If you want to see how far you can push a signal, then this compilation is a quite persuasive example of hardcore engineering. Since this is only the beginning of the label, we are curious about what they will bring in the future.   Industrial Revolution 1.0 by REER

SUCK PUCK – Fuk The Borders 11

The latest Fuk The Borders compilation is surely a big one. It’s hard to pin down what’s on there exactly, but it’s worth discovering. Without a doubt it’s an excellent collection of super strange music. When people say that music is boring nowadays they clearly have not heard of this stuff. For 9€ it is also a bargain!   Fuk The Borders 11 by Suck Puck Compilations

RABBeAT – What’s That, Who’s There

As you may know, Kilbourne recently launched her hardcore/techno label Hammerhead in January. The label is as uncompromising as her music, but does not feature only her own works. The latest release by RABBeAT is an excellent addition to Hammerhead’s discography. The third EP on the label envisions a new chapter of industrial hardcore that somehow traces back to the old sound we all crave. On the other hand, it develops into a new direction while keeping its core primarily industrial. But most importantly, it’s not cheesy or formulaic at all. Quite the contrast, you can feel that this guy […]

PRSPCT PDCST 092 – Starving Insect live at Harmony Of Hardcore 2024

As one of the most interesting contemporary hardcore heads out there Starving Insect kills it every time. Even a black hole shines bright in comparison to this guy’s selections. You can perfectly check this out on his Harmony of Hardcore set from 2024. With more than 2 hours of solid darkness, he showcases all the good shit hardcore has to offer. Mathlovsky – A Violent State Of Excited Delirium EP

The next release is especially for those of you who can appreciate a proper breakbeat deconstruction. The “A Violent State Of Excited Delirium“ EP by Mathlovsky features four extremely well crafted tracks, each with their own twist. While some could be more described as dreamy and technical, others are full on slammers that do not mess around. Mathlovsky provides us here with an exceptional acoustic journey that offers variety in a time that gives a fuck about ingenuity. The whole EP is clearly worth a listen, especially since it is completely free (donations are welcome). The sound design is really […]

KRYTIKA @ Komplex 175

Even though he has been around for quite a while, especially recently Krytikas’s tracks and mixes had a lot of impact. The most recent recording from a party is no exception. This mix reminds me of some good old hardcore drum and bass parties. The sound and the tracklist are great, hard and in your face, but not too much for the dancing crowd to bear. Detest – My Early Works Remixes Vol. 2

If you are into the oldschool Detest vibe, you cannot miss out on this one. The original tracks were already hitting the spot, but the new versions clearly increase the damage by a lot. Even though remakes or remixes sometimes lose their focus too much, this release keeps the quality high and pushes the old tracks to new heights. In case you’re wondering, yes there is also a volume one, but it only features a shorter version of “Motherfucker”. My Early Works Remixes Vol. 2 by Detest

Hypoxic & CRPTC – Struggle Within

Without any doubt, this EP is a tough nut to crack! Hypoxic & CRPTC provided an excellent piece of slow and moody hardcore for Dark.Descent. Due to harshness and tempo it’s honestly kinda chewy, but in the best way possible I would say. It really is great release with lots of variation that keeps everything interesting at all times. Struggle Within by Hypoxic & CRPTC

HUMAN HAUNTED WORLD III – VA

This compilation features a little bit of everything. From slow, creeping Doomcore up to high-paced Speedcore, you find basically everything hardcore has to offer. Thanks to the variety of this compilation on Extreme is Everything, there is a high likeliness that you will find something you can enjoy. It’s a well curated release that requires a little bit of your precious time, but it is sure worth the effort of going through the tracks. HUMAN HAUNTED WORLD III – VA (EIEVA03) by Extreme Is Everything

The Silence – Incomplete Darkness

This EP definitely also falls into the category of “wow I need that for my collection”. While you might be already familiar with most tracks on the EP, as they have been recently released on the recent The Silence album from 2023 (some only digitally though), the EP finally brings the missing tracks of said album to vinyl. Moreover, there is an about 2 minutes longer version of Something Hardcore on this EP, which alone is great. The only completely new track is industrial counter. A track that apparently makes fun of another weird trend in hardcore. Was it necessary? […]

Thrasher – Rotterdam Hardcore

The first appearance of Thrasher on Deathchant is actually pretty amazing. While it requires not only skills, a real DC release also needs flow and style. And actually, this EP has it all. The production quality is very good and totally fits the Deathchant cosmos. Apart from the very first track which solely relies on some questionable vocal sample choice (it’s really kinda lame in 2024 in my personal opinion), all tracks showcase all the ingredients of a good Deathchant release. Keep it Burning and 2024 Murder in particular can destroy any dancefloor within seconds. The Orbiter on the other […]

SOCIETY WILL FALL – Progress In Progress

Sadly, there is not much information available on the Italian artists Society Will Fall. Despite the missing information, the music already gives us a hint at where this journey goes. Entangled in a heavily pessimistic world view, the EP explores dancefloor friendly industrial hardcore without being cheesy at all. On the contrary, this is hard as nails, but still easy to dance to. It’s rare that an EP manages to keep the roughness and the accessibility totally in balance. This is clearly an outstanding release that let us hope for more to come from these talented artists.   Progress In […]

DEFORMER – THE HARDCORE REMIXES

Holy crap, this came rather unexpected. Rotterdam’s one and only Mike Redman aka Deformer released a remix EP of some of his tracks along with Prspct. On the EP some of hardcore’s true legends appeared such as Angerfist, the Outside Agency, Neophyte, Drokz, Tripped, Dolphin and N-Vitral (even though this remix sadly did not reach my eardrums very well). Seriously, this is the cream of the crop. It’s hard to pick a favorite at all, since all tracks deliver their own interpretations of already mind-blowing original Deformer tracks. Just check them one by one and you’ll understand the hype. In […]

SOVA – It’s Time/ Waves

Well, who says only guys can make rock solid industrial hardcore? I guess some dipshits do, but who cares about them anyway? In contrast, Sova clearly shows us with her first EP on Prspct that she has a vision, most producers cannot even dream of. She adds a whole new layer of musical ingredients to a – it’s sad to say – more and more boring core universe. Her debut EP with its super imaginative title “It’s Time/ Waves” offers, who could have guessed, two tracks. Both are just extreme from every angle. What’s most striking are her stellar producing […]

Nite Lock – Lock In

Undoubtedly this is maybe the least expected release we stumbled upon this year so far. Wile nobody knows exactly who Nite Lock is, we can certify that this release is completely nuts. Weird rhythms and strange atmospheres apparently go along very well with untamed kick drum assaults. The “Lock In” EP just features five unique tracks, all doing their own shit and minding nobody’s business. This release is made for people who don’t like their music super hard or fast, but want to witness the full weirdo experience of hard dance music regardless. Lock In by Nite Lock

Ordeal, Matt Green – Raw Deal

Matt Green, or also known as Ordeal, constantly keeps pushing his own style like no other. With his latest LP on Motormouth he shows again that industrial hardcore is far away from being discontinued. The album features a broad variety of harsh industrial. The good shit, obviously. The industrial you barely find any longer nowadays! To be honest, there is not too much to say about the release. It hits hard and leaves not much room for discussion. Moreover, the release also features a live performance of the album, which offers a slightly different listening experience. Raw Deal by Ordeal, […]

Aus Industrial Militia – Strength of the Militia

While Hardcore tends to be more and more boring, the new album by Aus Industrial Militia proves everybody wrong who claims that Hardcore is shit nowadays. Sure, the statement may remain true in some regards, but this does not apply at all for this release on Industrial Strength. The album manages to bring dancefloor friendly tracks that break out enough to deviate from the program but still remain danceable at all times. Moreover, it does a good job providing harshness when needed, but it never sounds forced or over the top. The artists behind Aus Industrial Militia Kader and DJ […]

Air J – Old Air*J Tracks 2007 – 2022 | AJM#000

Another collection of rather old tracks comes from Air J. Maybe some of you remember this guy. His works explicitly addresses people who are not afraid of snares. While his style usually centers around Hard Drum and Bass it oftentimes mutates into Crossbreed and Hardcore. Recently, he uploaded all of his old tracks which were written between 2007 and 2022 on bandcamp. For only 5€ you can get a whopping 51 tracks. In addition, there are remixes and collaborations with Peter Kurten, T-Psy and Brainpain, just to name a few. If you do not feel like going through 51 tracks, […]

Pure Hate Trax – Tape Bleed 001 VA [Noise Bleed]

The next release also comes a bit late to the table. But it definitely aged well since June last year. “Tape Bleed 001 VA [Noise Bleed]“ on the Berlin label Pure Hate Trax is a pretty broad approach towards distortion. While the first tracks fall into noisy, ambient sound textures, other tracks work more excessively with kickdrums, blending industrial with even more industrial – fast and slow. It seriously is an excellent composition with a well-crafted build up. The tracks sit great on this release, regardless of their very different speed, rhythms and level of creative destruction. Sure, it’s not […]
